Trump supporters share positive experiences after returning to Butler Farm Show grounds
BUTLER, Pa. (KDKA) -- Trump supporters left the former president's rally on Saturday in good spirits, breathing a sigh of relief that he could safely speak.
"I can't even have words to speak. I was so happy," Deborah Kamerer said.
She'd been afraid to come to the rally after being so close to the stage during the first one.
"Because I was so frightened back in July, but here I am, and it turned out great," she said.
"Everything went so nice, and it was a really, almost spiritual, remembering Corey, and it was a really beautiful event, very positive," said Warren Goodrich, who was with Kamerer.
While July's shooting drove some to stay home, others jumped at the chance to attend.
Approximately 24,000 people returned to the Butler Farm Show grounds on Saturday, nearly three months after the assassination attempt on Trump's life, according to the Secret Service. The event was estimated to bring 15,000 to 60,000 people to Butler.
Kevin B. Danley was attending his first Trump rally after driving up from Alabama.
"I think it was a very powerful thing," Danley said. "For him to come back to show the people that he's fighting for them and fighting for the people that did get shot and did lose his life."
Kristine Davis attended the July rally. She sees the October rally as a continuation of the July rally.
"He didn't get to finish his message the first time, so we kind of felt like we were cut short and cut off because we only got six minutes of him speaking," Davis said. "Look what they've done to him, and he's still standing, and back in Butler, Pa. Here we are."
