Truck Overturns On Ft. Duquesne Bridge
DOWNTOWN (KDKA)-A tractor-trailer overturned Friday morning on the Ft. Duquesne Bridge, leaving behind quite a mess.
The UPS truck overturned in the outbound lanes, near the Route 65-North Shore split. Reportedly the driver fell asleep at the wheel.
It was carrying packages, many of which were dumped onto the road.
The crash caused a small fuel spill too, PennDOT crews brought in sand to clean it up.
Debris and fuel from the crash also fell on the lower deck of the bridge, causing part of the Route 65 on-ramp to the Ft. Duquesne Bridge to be reduced to one lane.
The crash happened around 4:30 a.m. Friday morning and portions of the bridge were closed until almost noon.
However, the bridge has since reopened.
Stay with KDKA for more information.
