Truck hits overpass along Route 40 in Washington County
WEST BROWNSVILLE, Pa. (KDKA) -- A truck hit an overpass in Washington County, shutting down part of Route 40 for a while.
Route 40 has since reopened in both directions between Route 43 in California and Route 88/Blaine Hill Road in West Brownsville, PennDOT said. There's a single lane restriction for the Knobb Road overpass between Wilson Road and Old National Pike.
The dump truck driver left the bed up after dumping material, causing it to become wedged up against the overpass, PennDOT said. The cab was separated from the rest of the truck, and photos show its back wheels draped over the median.
There was reportedly minimal damage to the bridge, and no one was injured.
PennDOT said motorists should still use caution when traveling through the area.
