Sentencing Delayed For Supermarket Heist Suspect
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A woman who's accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the cash office of a local supermarket will have to wait a bit longer to learn her fate.
Though Darcy Hudson was scheduled to go before a judge today on charges that she took $16,000 from the cash room of the Giant Eagle in the Crafton-Ingram Shopping Center, her sentencing was postponed.
Investigators say Hudson claimed she was looking for a restroom when she was spotted in the supermarket's cash room last year. Employees later discovered that money was missing.
Authorities were able to identify Hudson by surveillance video from a nearby bar, Mugshots, where she stopped for a drink following the incident.
When asked her reaction to charges, Hudson told KDKA's Harold Hayes last December: "Go hard or go home."
Officials say Hudson has a long court record of burglaries and robberies in the area.
In addition to theft charges, Hudson is accused of criminal trespass and receiving stolen property.
