Trial Postponed For Woman Accused Of Kidnapping Newborn
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The trial for a woman accused of kidnapping a newborn baby from Magee-Womens Hospital last year has been postponed.
In August 2012, investigators say Breona Moore, of McKeesport, allegedly posed as a nurse and walked out of the hospital with the 3-day-old child.
After a frantic search, police found Moore with the baby hiding in the stairwell of the Investment Building in Downtown Pittsburgh.
They were missing for about five hours.
The child was reunited shortly afterward with his parents, and Moore was arrested and interrogated for several hours.
In June, Moore waived her case to court during a preliminary hearing. Her attorney said she decided to do that to avoid putting everyone through reliving incident.
The trial has been rescheduled for April.
