Treasurer McCord Wins 2nd 4-Year Term
HARRISBURG (AP) -- Democratic incumbent Rob McCord has been elected to a second four-year term as Pennsylvania state treasurer.
Republican Diana Irey Vaughan, a county commissioner from western Pennsylvania, was defeated.
The 53-year-old McCord is a former venture capitalist from Bryn Mawr.
He was elected in 2008 in his first election campaign. He made headlines in 2010 when he helped force then-Gov. Ed Rendell, a fellow Democrat, to trim a $1 billion package by hundreds of millions.
The 50-year-old Vaughan has been a Washington County commissioner since 1995. This was her first statewide campaign.
