Tractor Trailer Crashes, Spills Chemical On I-70
DONEGAL TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A tractor trailer crash and chemical spill shut down part of Interstate 70 Saturday in Washington County.
According to state police, the accident happened around 1 p.m. on the eastbound side of Donegal Township.
State police say the tractor trailer traveled off the roadway and into a drainage ditch where it spilled the glue-like substance it was hauling.
Officials say the chemical is used in the adhesive industry.
The accident also blocked the entire eastbound side of I-70 in that area.
No injuries were reported in the accident.
Crews were on scene well into the evening cleaning up. A environmental cleanup crews and the Washington County Hazmat team were also called in because of the chemical that spilled.
