Man, 19, Struck By Tractor Trailer On I-70
WASHINGTON COUNTY (KDKA) -- A young man died Saturday morning after being struck by a tractor trailer on I-70 in Washington County.
The Washington County coroner identified the victim as 19-year-old Osman Mohammad Bakali of West Chester Township, Ohio.
According to a coroner's report, Bakali was driving westbound on I-70 between milemarkers 35 and 36 in Charleroi around 9 a.m. The coroner says Bakali thought he hit something, so he pulled over on the side of the road and got out to check for damage. While he was walking around his car, he was hit by a tractor trailer.
The tractor trailor came to rest about 100 yards away from Bakali's car. The accident brought traffic in the westbound lanes to a halt and forced drivers to wait in their cars.
Bakali was pronounced dead at 10:02 a.m. The cause of death was determined to be multiple blunt force trauma.
