Out Of Control Tractor-Trailer Crashes On Route 51
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A tractor-trailer crash shut down a major Pittsburgh road on Friday.
The accident occurred on Route 51 near Ensign Avenue around noon.
Surveillance video shows the tractor-trailer losing control, clipping and oncoming pickup truck and crashing through a fence off the road.
Another vehicle was damaged after hitting the truck's axle.
Mike Tracy was working in his shop across the street and came outside when he heard the accident. He believes it is incredible that no one involved suffered any life-threatening injuries.
"The driver of both trucks are okay, but a girl was hurt, we don't know from the airbags going off or what, someone could have died," Tracy said.
Route 51 was closed between Whited Street and Maytide Street for several hours.
It is not clear if anyone was injured.
