Tracks In Snow Lead Police To Suspects In Moon Twp. Taxi Robbery

MOON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A taxi driver for the Yellow Cab Company was robbed at gunpoint early Wednesday morning in the Mooncrest section of Moon Township.

But Moon Township Police quickly found the two suspects, not because of DNA or fingerprints, but because of some fresh footprints in the snow.

The cab driver picked up two men and a woman in McKees Rocks.

After the woman got out on Cedar Drive in Mooncrest, authorities say one of the males pulled gun on the driver. He then jumped out from the behind of wheel and ran for his life.

The suspects rifled through the vehicle, and among other things, stole a GPS device, police said.

Police reviewed security camera video of the neighborhood and managed to pinpoint where the woman got out.

They tracked her boot prints in the fresh snow, and they were led right to her front door.

Moon Police Captain Gregory Seamon told KDKA-TV Thursday night, "The two suspected robbers were located in the woman's upstairs bedroom, and searching police also found cocaine, heroin and the cabbie's GPS."

Brandon Brown and Lynard Grace, Jr., both 23-year-olds from Pittsburgh, face charges including robbery, aggravated assault, and drug possession.
