Top Twitter Reactions To A Really Bad Week For Pittsburgh Sports Fans
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Needless to say, it's been a pretty rough week for Pittsburgh sports fans.
First Pascal Dupuis… and now Neil Walker.
At least we got to have a little fun on Sunday night when the Steelers beat the Colts.
Antonio Brown gave us a reason to smile with his goalpost celebration (oh that's right, he got fined $11,576 for that.) Nevermind.
On Tuesday news broke that Pittsburgh Penguins winger Pascal Dupuis would never play hockey again due to a medical condition.
It was not the news Pens fans were hoping to hear about Duper.
Dupuis has been a fan favorite and fans reacted on social media to news that he wouldn't be back on the ice.
The Steelers even sent out a classy tweet to honor #9.
The Penguins even wore "9" decals on their helmets during the game Wednesday night to honor Dupuis.
Then, just when Pittsburgh sports fans thought they were over the sad Dupuis situation, news broke Wednesday that the Pittsburgh kid, Pirates second baseman Neil Walker had been traded to the New York Mets.
93-7 The Fan host Colin Dunlap summed up most of Pittsburgh's feelings in one Twitter video from his daughter.
This fan is really having a bad month, Neil Walker and Kobe Bryant?
People were very emotional about Walker's leaving, some even thought they were having serious medical problems.
It is the holiday season after all, and elf on the shelf is a big deal around many Pittsburgh households.
So what better way to break the news to your kids, than with this elf on the shelf display
Neil Walker himself took to social media to let Pirates fans know how grateful they were for his support.
He couldn't just stop there could he? Then he had to send out one last tweet.
Ouch! "Lets Go Mets!" and that Twitter avatar was changed too. Double ouch.
As Pittsburgh fans, we've endured things like this happening before, and we'll endure them happening again.
But here's hoping that next week is a little brighter.
