Top Google Searches Tied To Holiday Gifts In Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The search for savings begins with a good pair of shoes.
"Nationally and in Pittsburgh we do see a good bit of interest in footwear and often it is something tied to sports, running, that sort of thing. So you could perhaps make the argument people want some comfortable shoes to get out and hit the stores," said Daniel Siedberg with Google.
According to Google, Pittsburghers have been searching for very specific shoes and things to get in shape.
"The Nike Air Jordan 12s, Adidas NMDs and Nike Kyrie 2s. So a lot of footwear, sporting wear that we see, workout wear there in Pittsburgh," Siedberg said.

When it comes to more traditional gift items, here are the items that are searched for most often on Google in western Pennsylvania:
"The Nintendo entertainment system -- a little bit old school -- but making a comeback this holiday season. Hatchimals, and if you have kids you know what these are, very popular and coveted this holiday season. And then Trolls the movie came out this year and a lot of products tied to that are being searched for," Siedberg said.
Those items are not wildly expensive. The NES classic edition sells for $60. Hatchimals are $50 -- assuming you can find them. They've been so hot, the hardest thing is finding them.
If the people on your list are a bit older, these items top Google-requested gadgets.
"With consumer electronics in pittsburgh a lot of interest around the Motorola Moto Z, the Apple iPhone 6s, and Google Home, this assistant in home we just launched," Siedberg said.
While those items are more expensive, the number of times they appear on the Google searches is a pretty good indication that they will make you a popular giver this holiday season.
