Tomlin: Steelers Need To Be Better On Offense
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Steelers are 0-2 for the first time since 2002 and are getting ready for another big test this weekend.
The Steelers lost 20-10 to the Cincinnati Bengals Monday night in a game where turnovers cost them dearly.
During his weekly press conference, head coach Mike Tomlin said the team has to get better on offense and score more points. Turnovers in the red zone have cost the Steelers in each of the first two games
Against Tennessee in Week 1, Isaac Redman fumbled into the endzone, where the Titans recovered.
Last night, Ben Roethlisberger hooked up with David Paulson for a 34-yard gain in the first quarter. However, Paulson was stripped of the ball and the Bengals recovered on their own 13 yard line.
Later, with about five minutes to play in the game, Roethlisberger was picked off at Cincinnati's 13 yard line, which effectively killed any chance of coming back.
However, there could be some good news coming out of this week's practices. Heath Miller (knee) is expected to have a full week of practice. However, Tomlin said to not expect Miller to come out of a phone booth wearing a cape.
Running back Le'Veon Bell (foot sprain) will do some individual work this week as well.
The Steelers will not have much time to dwell on their current situation as they get ready to take on the 2-0 Chicago Bears at Heinz Field Sunday night.
