Tomlin Offers Injury Updates As Team Prepares For Browns
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Steelers have confirmed that Charlie Batch will get the start against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
Head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed what had been speculated after Bryon Leftwich was injured on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.
Tomlin said Leftwich will not be available for the game against the Browns due to multiple broken ribs.
Wide receiver Jericho Cotchery has also been ruled out of this weekend's game with the same injury. However, Tomlin said Cotchery will be out indefinitely.
With Ben Roethlisberger also injured, the Steelers are looking for help to shore up their quarterback and wide receiver depth.
Plaxico Burress has already worked out for the Steelers.
In addition to Burress, the Steelers have or plan to work out quarterbacks Brian Hoyer and Mike Kafka.
Tomlin also said Antonio Brown and Troy Polamalu will run and test injuries this week. Both are listed as questionable.
