Tomlin Holds Press Conference On First Preseason Game
LATROBE (KDKA)--The Steelers first preseason game is just two days away.
Pittsburgh travels to take on the Washington Redskins for a Friday night matchup. The team has been training, as always, in Latrobe.
Head coach Mike Tomlin held his first pre-game press conference of the season today at St. Vincent College.
Tomlin said seven players will not play in the first preseason matchup including wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, defensive back Bryant McFadden and guard Chris Kemoeatu. Starters will get about 10 plays or less on Friday.
Tomlin wouldn't talk about the quarterback rotation and how much playing time players would get, but he did say express his excitement to getting back to football.
"We're excited about this opportunity to take this significant step in our team development and to go inside an NFL stadium and play against unfamiliar faces and maybe even unfamiliar schemes," Tomlin said. "We're really gonna take a simple approach to this. We don't have any hard core plans as I sit here right now."
