Todd Eldredge promotes Family Skating Tribute coming to PPG Paints Arena Oct 30th!
Mark your calendars for October 30th at the PPG Paints Arena for the Musselman's Apple Sauce Family Skating Tribute , featuring your favorite ice skating champions! Hosted by skating champions Kristi Yamaguchi and Michael Weiss, the other skating stars will include Scott Hamilton, Nancy Kerrigan, Paul Wylie, Kurt Browning, Todd Eldredge, Sinead and John Kerr, Silvia Fontana, John Zimmerman, Jodeyne Higgins, and Sean Rice. This family-themed show will showcase the performers children skating along with their parents! In addition, breakout country stars Dan + Shay will be performing live during the show.
Former World Champion and six-time US champion Todd Eldredge stopped by the studio today to tape a segment for PTL, and Daisy from Pittsburgh's CW Green Team had a chance to ask him a few questions!
Daisy: How did you get involved in skating?
Todd: I got a pair of hockey skates when I was 5 years old. But when I saw the figures skaters doing their jumps, it just looked like more fun, so I wanted to get into figure skating!
Daisy: It's pretty cool that you get to skate with your entire family for the Family Skating Tribute. How was that, and did you help to come up with the skate concepts?
Todd: I love that I get to skate with my wife, who's a figure skater as well, alongside my two boys. And we do get to contribute our ideas; my son actually came up with the Pirates of the Caribbean theme for one of the shows.
Daisy: Now that you're not competing, how do you stay involved with skating?
Todd: I actually work with the Dallas Stars organization, back where I live. I work with all levels of skaters, from beginners through Olympic-level competitors, as well as hockey players who want to improve.
Daisy: Well thank you for taking the time to share with us, and enjoy your time in Pittsburgh!
Be sure to get your tickets for the Family Skating Tribute, which comes to the PPG Paints Arena at 4pm on Sunday, October 30th, 2016!
