Three Panthers Earn All-ACC Academic Honors
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Three members of the Pitt men's basketball team have earned Academic All-ACC Team Honors.
Senior Cam Wright, junior James Robinson and sophomore Sheldon Jeter were all named to the Academic All-ACC Men's Basketball Team.
In total, 21 players were selected to the Academic team. In order to be named to the Academic team, the student-athletes must have a 3.00 grade point average for the last semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during their academic career.
On top of this academic honor, Wright was named the winner of the 2014 Skip Prosser Award, the ACC's scholar-athlete of the year for men's basketball.
On the court, Wright is averaging 9.1 points per game to go along with 3 rebounds and 3.1 assists.
On top of their academic honors, Robinson is averaging 9.1 points per game, 3.2 rebounds per game and 5.2 assists per game while Jeter is averaging 4.9 points per game and 2.6 rebounds per game.
Five other Panthers were nominated for the All-ACC honor including Cameron Johnson, Mike Lecak, Ryan Luther, Aron-Phillips-Nwankwo and Joseph Uchebo.
