Thousands "Step Out" To Raise Money For Diabetes Research
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Thousands were out on the North Shore Sunday for the annual "Step Out" walk to stop diabetes.
It's the largest fundraiser put on by the American Diabetes Association.
Organizers say diabetes affects everyone in some way.
"Everyone knows someone who has been affected by diabetes, whether it be type one, type two, pre-diabetes or gestational diabetes," said Kira Foley with the American Diabetes Association. "The American Diabetes Association is trying to find a cure for all diabetes."
The CW Green Team sponsored the event.
Recently, a local retired mail carrier walked from Erie to Pittsburgh to raise money for diabetes research as well.
