Thousands Participate In March Of Dimes Walk
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- It was a great morning for a walk.
And that's exactly what more than 8,000 did - raising money to give babies a healthy start.
The March of Dimes March for babies stepped off this morning on Art Rooney Avenue.
They hope to raise more than $600,000 to benefit premature births.
The organization helps many local families.
"We've already reaped the benefits of what events like this have done and it's just so encouraging to see how much effort is being put forth and the continuing those efforts and continuing the progress to get all these healthy babies," said Chris Tekulve, whose daughter was helped by March of Dimes.
KDKA's Jon Burnett and Heather Abraham led the walk.
