Thiessen Re-Assigned To Wilkes-Barre Scranton
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A day after being called up to the Pittsburgh Penguins, goaltender Brad Thiessen has been returned to the AHL.
According to the Penguins' official website, Thiessen was sent back down to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Wednesday morning.
Thiessen was called up on Tuesday and served as Marc-Andre Fleury's backup in a 2-0 win over the New York Rangers.
Brent Johnson did not dress for the game because of an illness.
In 37 games with the Baby Penguins, Thiessen is 20-14-2 with a 2.88 GAA and is tied for fourth in the AHL in wins.
The Penguins will be back in action on Saturday when they host the Tampa Bay Lightning at 1 p.m.
