The Fan Morning Show's Steelers Midseason Report
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan)- The Pittsburgh Steelers have reached the midway point in the regular season, having played eight games to the tune of a 4-4 record.
"The Fan Morning Show," with host Chris Mack filling in for regular host Colin Dunlap this week, Josh Miller and Jim Colony, used Tuesday's show to review the Steelers' first half and give some second half predictions as well.
Here are the results:
First Half MVP
Chris: Ben Roethlisberger. Chris says if Roethlisberger would have been available for the New England Patriots game, they could have won, shows his value to the team.
Josh: Jordan Berry. Yes, Josh picks the punter. But, he believes that Berry has been the best player at his job on the team.
Jim: Jordan Berry. Jim hops on the Berry bandwagon as well.
First Half LVP (Least Valuable Player)
Chris: David DeCastro. The Steelers re-signed DeCastro in the offseason and he has been very disappointing to this point.
Josh: Jarvis Jones. It's a "make or break" year for Jones as his contract expires at the end of the season, yet he hasn't done very much.
Jim: Ladarius Green. The man brought in in the offseason to be another offensive weapon has not even seen the field yet.
First Half Grades
Offense
Chris: C
Josh: D-
Jim: D
The guys all agree that with the talent this team possesses, the poor performances against Miami and Baltimore, among others, leads to a poor grade.
Defense

The defense hasn't been the main issue with the Steelers, but the lack of play-making ability and sacks leads to mediocre grades.

These grades would have been a lot higher a week ago before the blocked punt for touchdown and the botched onside kick attempt last week in Baltimore.
