The CW Moves Forward with "Nancy Drew" Spinoff "Tom Swift"

'Tom Swift', who appeared as a character on 'Nancy Drew', will now have its own spinoff, and The CW network has given it the Greenlight.

The team behind 'Nancy Drew' will also shepherd the new series, which stars Tian Richards as the title character.

'Tom Swift' centers on a Black, gay billionaire inventor and will follow the title character (Tian Richards, Burden) who's thrust into a world of sci-fi conspiracy and unexplained phenomena after the shocking disappearance of his father. Tom takes to the road on a quest to unravel the truth, leaving behind the comforts of his usual moneyed lifestyle while fighting to stay one step ahead of an Illuminati-scale group hell-bent on stopping him.
