Texans Cut Former WVU RB Slaton
Pittsburgh (KDKA)- Just three years ago, Houston Texans RB Steve Slaton was the talk of the NFL.
Today, Slaton is looking for a job after being released by the Texans.
The team announced today that they've released Slaton and promoted Chris Ogbonnaya from the practice squad.
During his rookie season in 2008, Slaton rushed for 1,282 yards on 268 carries. Since then, the former West Virginia star has battled various injuries including neck surgery.
The Texans backfield is loaded with talent such as Arian Foster, Ben Tate and Derrick Ward so Slaton had no future with Houston.
