Testimony Continues In Case Against Man Paralyzed During Traffic Stop
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Testimony continued Friday at Leon Ford's trial.
Ford was shot by police and paralyzed during a traffic stop in Highland Park in 2012.
The prosecution brought in a mannequin Friday afternoon to show the trajectory of the bullets. They say the bullets were fired from two to four feet away.
The prosecution contends Ford was trying to push the police officer out of the car, when he was shot.
On Thursday, a second police officer continued his testimony.
Officer Andrew Miller denied he told Ford "I hope you die."
He also testified that the items police thought were a gun turned out to be Ford's cell phone and keys.
The officer who fired shots at Ford also testified the previous day.
Officer David Derbish explained why he fired at Ford when he started to pull away from the traffic stop.
