Warrant Issued In McDonald's Parking Lot Shooting

PENN HILLS (KDKA) — Allegheny County Police have identified the alleged gunman in a fatal shooting outside the McDonald's in Penn Hills.

Police issued an arrest warrant for 15-year-old Akeem Willie of Homewood.

He's wanted for criminal homicide, robbery, endangering the welfare of another person and weapons charges.

Police say he tried to rob 18-year-old Dalyn Jones apparently shot in the back as he sat in the front seat of a car.

Willie was in the backseat. More shots were exchanged in the parking lot.

Penn Hills police told KDKA-TV that 16 rounds were fired during the attempted robbery. Some of the bullets struck the building while people were waiting in line inside the restaurant.

Police say the shooting was over marijuana.

"We believe at this time that there's approximately a half an ounce of marijuana that's in dispute," Allegheny County Police Superintendent Charles Moffatt said.

"It is missing. We believe that's the motive for the robbery and ultimately the homicide."

A second suspect may also be charged in the shooting.
