Teenage Stabbing Victim Released From Hospital

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A 16-year- old girl who was stabbed inside a local Target store has been released from the hospital.

The family is on their way home to Tennessee, but they spoke with KDKA-TV's Christine D'Antonio before they left.

Allison Meadows left Children's Hospital around 11 a.m. smiling and in very good spirits.

Her dad, Glen Meadows, packed up their rental car with balloons and flowers to head back to Tennessee.

Allison was stabbed in her arm and back and suffered a collapsed lung after a man went on a violent stabbing spree inside the East Liberty Target store Monday night.

Allison was in town to visit and to support her nephew, Cooper, who is also at Children's Hospital to undergo a triple-organ transplant.

Glen said the staff at Children's Hospital has been wonderful, but they are ready to leave and go home.

Allison Meadows is expected to make a full recovery.

She said the thing she looks forward to the most when she gets home is sleeping in her own bed.
