Teen Killed In North Side Shooting
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh police are looking for clues in a deadly shooting overnight on the city's North Side that claimed the life of a teenager and sent another man to the hospital.
According to police, someone gunned down Timothy Harris, 18, in the 1600-block of Sandusky Court shortly around 1:30 a.m.
Another man suffered a gunshot wound, but was able to run to an apartment nearby for help. The 21-year-old victim was taken to Allegheny General Hospital for treatment.
"A 21-year-old male was shot in the buttocks and was able to flee into an apartment for help," Pittsburgh Police Commander Thomas Stangrecki told KDKA-TV. "A second victim, 18-year-old Timothy Harris, was shot multiple times and unfortunately, he died at the scene."
Investigators were on the scene for hours gathering evidence this morning; but so far, they have not determined a motive for the shooting or made any arrests.
Police are asking anyone with information to call the homicide squad at 412-323-7161.
This morning's shooting comes just about four weeks after another shooting in nearly the same location. "We've had other incidents here," Commander Stangrecki added.
On August 12th, a woman whom police believe was an innocent bystander, was shot in the abdomen and critically injured. She survived the shooting and police captured a suspect in that case.
