Teacher's Aide Charged With Having Sex With Student In Washington Cemetery
WASHINGTON, Pa. (KDKA) -- A teacher's aide at Washington High School is facing charges after police say she and a student allegedly had sex in a local cemetery.
According to the Washington Observer-Reporter, 45-year-old Tracy Ardeno of Washington is facing institutional sexual assault charges.
The Observer-Reporter reports another teacher was the first to report the alleged inappropriate relationship to school district officials after seeing the aide picking up the student at a nearby Subway.
Officials say Ardeno, who worked for the district for 13 years, and the student, who is a senior and is over 18, began interacting two months ago when she asked the teen about his tattoos and smile, the Observer-Reporter reports.
Their interactions were reportedly seen on high school surveillance video. But, the Observer-Reporter reports that police say there did not appear to be any physical contact there.
The inappropriate contact is alleged to have happened in Ardeno's car at Washington Cemetery.
Police investigators say, according to the Observer-Reporter, that Ardeno and the teen had sex just once. She has since been removed from the school.
The investigation continues.
No date has been set for Ardeno's preliminary hearing.
