Talbot Signs 5-Year Deal With Flyers
Pittsburgh (KDKA)- They'll be plenty of story lines for the Pens/Flyers games this year.
Moments after signing Jaromir Jagr, the Flyers announced that they've signed Max Talbot to a five-year deal.
According to various reports, it's a five-year deal worth a total of $9 million.
While getting interviewed on the NHL Network, Talbot said he selected Philadelphia because it gave him a great chance to win.
Talbot went on to say it was tough leaving the Penguins and close friends like Sidney Crosby, Marc-Andre Fleury and Pascal Dupuis but he had to do what's best for his family.
Last week, Talbot rejected a multi-year offer from the Penguins that's believed to be for $850,000 per season.
Talbot thanked his fans in Pittsburgh via his Twitter account.
"Thanks to everyone in Pitt. 6 years I'll never forget! From top to bottom it has been extraordinary. Fans, thanks for the amazing support."
