Taglianetti's Keys To Pens' Success: Puck Control, Smart Hockey
PITTSBURGH (93.7 THE FAN)--The Penguins have sputtered in Games 2 and 3 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series against the Islanders despite winning one of the two games. To talk about it, the Fan Morning Show welcomed guest, Peter Taglianetti to the show on Tuesday.
Much of the Penguins' struggles in the last two games is mental, according to the former Penguin.
"There is always a lesson to be learned when you throw a blind pass back towards your own goaltender," Taglianetti said of making the smart plays.
Another reason for blown leads, is the Islanders' speed. Tags does not think that should be an issue, saying, "You can neutralize their speed, and it's called 'puck control.'"
He also has thoughts on the overtime penalty in Game 2 that led to Chris Kunitz's game-winning goal, and whether or not Marc-Andre Fleury has been shaky.
