Woman In Custody, Police Searching For 2 Men In Armed Robbery
NORTH SIDE (KDKA) – Authorities took a woman into custody but continue to look for two men following an armed robbery that sent the SWAT team to Pittsburgh's North Side Friday morning.
Police say the robbery victim had just gotten his paycheck cashed when he was approached by two men and a woman around 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Geyer Avenue and Oxfield Street.
The victim reported that the suspects came from behind, robbed him of his cash and stripped him of his clothing, down to his underwear.
Marjorie Barker's daughter, Michelle, lives in the house police eventually surrounded while tracking down the suspects from the robbery.
Authorities never found the two men, but outside of the house they found a black Chevy Cavalier, believed to be the getaway car; and inside, Michelle Barker, one of the suspects police were looking for.
"What a nightmare," said Marjorie Barker, the suspect's mother. "She has the three children, and I don't think she'd put herself or the children in this situation."
Shadeland Avenue was shut down for hours as the hunt for the two armed suspects continued, but police came up with nothing.
There is not a lot of traffic in the area, so police say there may not have been many witnesses. However, they're hoping anyone who could have been in the area will give them a call with new details.
