SUV Hits Car, Crashes Into Monroeville Muffler Shop
MONROEVILLE (KDKA) – Repairs are being made to a Monroeville business after a vehicle drove through their doors early Thursday morning.
According to police, the accident happened at Monro Muffler in the 3700-block of William Penn Highway around 5:30 a.m.
A woman crashed her SUV into the garage of the business and hit another car along the way.
She was parked in the McDonald's lot next door. When she hit the gas, her car was in reverse.
While the result was damaging, it was not deadly.
The garage door at Monro Muffler was crunched and glass flew everywhere. The driver, said to be in her mid-70's, was shaken up a bit, but not hurt.
When she crossed the McDonald's parking lot some 30 feet away, she also struck a car parked in the Monro lot.
Robert Trisch, the manager of Monro Muffler, was more concerned about the driver than the damage.
"I just hope that lady is okay. It's a horrific mess and it's really going to mess up a strong day today because we have a lot of appointments. I'll make it work," Trisch said.
Not only was the garage door damaged, but a car inside the was on the rack. Fortunately, that car was not damaged, but the rack holding it up was bent.
The car hit in the lot belonged to Trisch's wife and he had just finished repairs on it.
"I'm not sure which kooks worse, my car or the door," he said.
Both Trisch and his wife say everything can either be repaired or replaced.
