Suspects Sought In Violent Bullskin Township Home Invasion
BULLSKIN TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- State police in Uniontown are investigating a violent robbery and home invasion that left an elderly man injured in Fayette County.
The victim, Elwood Richter, in his late-70s, was asleep in the early morning hours of Thursday when police say at least two suspects broke into his Bullskin Township home
"He couldn't see anything; it was dark, all the lights were out," said Tim Richter, the victim's son. "All's he seen was shadows."
Tim Richter says his father phoned him in the middle of the night.
"He called me about 2:30 in the morning and said, 'get down here… grab a gun, get down here and somebody just beat me up,'" said Richter who lives close by his father. "So, I said, call 911."
The intruders made off with prescription medication and some cash. The assailants made certain that Richter never got a good look at their faces.
"Only one of them would talk. They upset the bed, threw him on the floor against the dresser," said Tim Richter. "He didn't see at all cause they flipped him over, and they had the mattress holding him down in the corner."
How the robbers got into the home remains unclear.
"There was no forced entry, no windows or nothing like that," the victim's son said.
Richter says his father was treated for cuts and bruises at a local hospital. He was shaken up, but not seriously hurt.
It's unclear if the suspects got away on foot or by vehicle.
