Suspects Sought In Robbery At Lawrenceville Convenience Store
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh police are searching for two suspects following a late night armed robbery at a convenience store in Lawrenceville.
The robbery happened after 11 p.m. at the Quick Stop Convenience Store in the 3300-block of Liberty Avenue.
According to investigators, the clerk who was working at the cash register reported that two men ran into the store and pointed a gun at him.
Police say the men were wearing all black, had their faces covered by masks and their heads covered by black hoods.
The clerk reported to police that one of the suspects grabbed some money from the cash register after running behind the counter.
Authorities say the men got away on foot after jumping back over the counter and exiting the store. It is not known in which direction they headed.
Police report that there was also a second employee in the store at the time of the incident. He hit the panic button when he heard the commotion and then ran into a cooler that he had been restocking and shut the door.
No one was injured during the incident.
The employees were reportedly closing up when the robbery happened. It is the third armed robbery at the convenience store in the last four years. There has also been two break-ins there as well.
