Suspects Sought In Fatal Strip District Shooting
STRIP DISTRICT (KDKA) – Police are still looking for suspects in a fatal Sunday morning Strip District shooting.
Shateecha Roach, 27, was shot and killed about a block away from Club Fever around 1 a.m.
Three other people were shot inside the club, with one being critically injured.
"When officers arrived they found 2 people shot inside. One male was shot multiple times and was teken to the hospital in critical condition," Pittsburgh Police Commander Thomas Stangrecki said.
Roach was a mother of a 10-year-old girl and 7-week-old girl, who worked with physically challenged children with Pittsburgh Public Schools.
"She was taken to [UPMC Presbyterian] and unfortunately she did not survive her injuries," Commander Stangrecki said.
In a cruel twist of fate, Roach's brother was also shot and killed on New Year's Eve in 1995.
KDKA-TV's Ross Guidotti spoke to Roach's mother who said the pain is immeasurable having lost both a son and a daughter in the same tragic fashion.
No arrests have been made and anyone with information is asked to call the Homicide Officer at (412)-323-7161.
