Suspects In Swissvale BP Robbery In Court
SWISSVALE (KDKA) -- A preliminary hearing was continued today for four suspects facing charges in the robbery of a BP gas station in Swissvale.
Adam Cloud and Raymone Ford, both 18, Ebony Hooper, 23, and Joseph Phillips, 19, are all accused of robbery and conspiracy.
"My client is not guilty. He has not been proven guilty of anything, these are merely allegations. Just because someone says you did something, doesn't mean it happened," said Blaine Jones, a defense attorney.
Jones represents Ford. Police say after the alleged robbery all three ran to his home.
According to investigators, $7,000 was missing. Authorities say the store's deposit bag was found in Ford's home.
"You know, it's funny, you read these affidavits of probable cause and things are not always as they appear," said Jones.
Hooper, who worked at the BP, is free on bond. She is accused of texting a countdown to when her manager would leave the store.
The hearing was continued by the prosecution.
"My client is eagerly looking forward to fighting these charges," said Jones. "He wants his day in court; he was tremendously disappointed that it was postponed today. We'll come back in, I believe it's, two weeks and we will give him the best defense possible."
Phillips is also free on bond. Ford and Cloud are being held in the Allegheny County Jail.
A new hearing date has been set for June 29.
