Suspect Wanted On Multiple Warrants Arrested After Domestic, Burglary & Manhunt
NORTH HUNTINGDON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A state police helicopter helped authorities track down a man wanted on multiple warrants following a domestic dispute, home invasion and manhunt Friday in Westmoreland County.
According to police, it all started just before 2 p.m. when police were called about a domestic dispute.
The suspect, 25-year-old Kyle Hook, was then arrested Friday evening after a police chase in the Hahntown section of North Huntingdon Township.
Police were involved in a manhunt for Hook in connection with a domestic incident earlier in the day.
Around the same time the search was going on, police got a call about a home invasion on Rose Street in the same neighborhood.
The homeowner told KDKA-TV's Ralph Iannotti that she was weeding her garden when she heard noises and saw a light on in her house.
As she was entering her home, Hook started to run off. But she yelled, "What the hell are you doing in my house?"
"Well, I talked to him. I yelled at him for about 15 minutes like he was one of my children," she said.
She told KDKA-TV News that she read Hook the riot act, and said it was amazing "that anybody has the guts to do something like that."
After Hook fled the scene of the home invasion, police say he ran into a heavily-wooded area. Authorities brought in a state police helicopter, from which authorities were able to spot Hook hiding in some woods near Tinkers Run Park.
When Hook was taken into custody, police recovered the woman's jewelry that he had stolen from the home.
There were at least six warrants out for Hook's arrest before his capture.
