Steelers Sign Veteran, Could Add Another

PITTSBURGH (93-7 THE FAN) -- The Steelers have signed free agent Larry Foote to a three-year contract.

The 32-year-old linebacker started all 16 games last year with 113 tackles, four sacks and two forced fumbles.

There were reports that Foote had been offered a two-year deal by the Arizona Cardinals. Foote has played 10 years in Pittsburgh with 612 tackles and 21 sacks.

CBS Sports' Jason LaConfora is reporting the Steelers will also bring back wide receiver Plaxico Burress for the 2013 season.

Burress played in only four games with the Steelers last year with three receptions for 42 yards and a touchdown.

The six-foot-five, 35-year-old Burress was drafted by the Steelers in 2000 and had his best season with the Steelers in 2002 with 78 receptions for 1,325 yards and seven touchdowns.

Burress said after scoring a touchdown in the season finale on December 30: "I can still go out and do some good things."

Burress added: "I've had so much support from the city and fans here in Pittsburgh, it just feels good to walk up and down the street and have people treat you well."
