Steelers Sign QB Byron Leftwich
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- The Pittsburgh Steelers and quarterback Byron Leftwich came to terms on a one-year contract Thursday.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Leftwich has spent three seasons in the Steelers organization. He played and won a Super Bowl with the Steelers in the 2008-09 season, and has spent the last two seasons in Pittsburgh while suffering through injury woes.
Leftwich missed the entire 2011 season with an arm injury.
In his career as a Steeler, Leftwich has completed 26-of-43 passes for 345 yards and two touchdowns. He has over 10,000 career passing yards and 60 career touchdown passes.
Leftwich fills out the Steelers quarterback depth chart. The Steelers recently signed Charlie Batch to go along with starter Ben Roethlisberger.
