Steelers Sign Dorin Dickerson
Pittsburgh (KDKA)- Dorin Dickerson will get the chance to play for his hometown team.
The former West Allegheny H.S. and Pitt star has reportedly signed on with the Steelers practice squad.
Two weeks ago, Dickerson was released by the Houston Texans, who drafted him in the 7th round of the 2010 NFL Draft.
The team has yet to confirm this reported signing.
Coming into training camp, Dickerson was being counted on by the Texans to be their 4th wide receiver but underperformed in training camp.
To make room for Dickerson, the Steelers released TE Jamie McCoy from the practice squad.
Since the team released McCoy, the Steelers are likely to use Dickerson as a tight end.
