Steelers Make 2nd, 3rd Round Draft Picks
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Steelers selected another offensive lineman in the draft.
Mike Adams, a tackle from Ohio State, was the team's second-round pick.
A couple months ago, Adams was projected to be a first-round pick, but he's had some character issues to deal with.
He was one of the five Buckeyes caught up in that scandal along with Terrelle Pryor that saw him suspended for five games last year.
Adams was caught with drug paraphernalia back in 2009 and he tested positive for marijuana at the NFL Combine in February.
As a result, he plummeted way down most teams' draft boards and wasn't even on the Steelers' until he contacted them, asking for a meeting with Kevin Colbert, Art Rooney II and Mike Tomlin.
He convinced them he was worth another look.
In the third round, the Steelers chose Sean Spence, a linebacker out of Miami. Linebackers coach Keith Butler said he expects Spence to play inside linebacker, backing up Lawrence Timmons.
