Steelers Rusher Le'Veon Bell Says He & Ben Will "Make This Offense Move"
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - Steelers rookie running back Le'Veon Bell has definitely noticed that the NFL game is a lot faster than the college game as running lanes close much more quickly. However, things are starting to slow down a little bit for him and allow him to be more of an NFL back the more games he plays.
Le'Veon is glad that his coaches trust his judgment on what is available and when to cut. He has seen both halves of a time share situation as the guy seeing his carries increased as well as the guy getting his carries cut so he understands splitting time.
Isaac Redman is someone who has been mentoring him, and Bell says that his relationship with Ben Roethlisberger is good.
Pass protection and blitz pickup were tough for Le'Veon at the beginning but practicing against the Steelers defense with all the different looks they show has allowed him to be more comfortable with that aspect of the game.
There was a lot about London that "baffled" Le'Veon during the trip over there. Le'Veon did not plan on doing a flip into the endzone but his momentum turned his dive into a somersault.
Nobody got down when the team was 0-4, Le'Veon says that the players knew where they were falling short and what they needed to do. When asked about how he grades himself, Bell said that "I'm going to keep striving...to get better as a player and growing."
Although Le'Veon has heard about how intense the rivalry with the Ravens is and he has watched games before this season, he knows that there is no way he will really understand how physical until he gets in there.
Le'Veon describes Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley as a "laid-back" and "chill" guy who wants "balance" in his offense. He does yell a little bit but not that much.
