Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported Friday night the NFL informed teams that in-person team activities will be prohibited on Monday and Tuesday, a mitigation effort as coronavirus cases rise. The ban does not include games.
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson reportedly tested positive for coronavirus this week. Pelissero reported Friday that Jackson tested positive on Tuesday and will not play against the Steelers. The quarterback was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list Friday. The Ravens have added 12 players to the list.
The Steelers also added three players to the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Friday.
Earlier on Wednesday, even more positive cases were reported among the Ravens organization.
This came after the Ravens announced on Wednesday that they disciplined an employee for not following coronavirus protocols.
Some Steelers fans are calling on the Ravens to forfeit Tuesday's game at Heinz Field.
"Time to forfeit," said Sandy Tomazich. "The Ravens need to forfeit."
"This is the third time that the Steelers got pushed back," said Jordan Tomazich. "So it's just pretty unfair."
The postponement of the game may also leave some Pittsburgh fans on the outside.
"I was going to watch the Steeler game Sunday. But now it's moved to Tuesday and I'll be leaving for work, so I'm going to probably miss it," said Brian McDade.
