Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger Injured, Fans Throw Objects At Him
PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) -- The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Cincinnati Bengals 18-16 in the NFL wild card game.
Ben Roethlisberger rallied the Steelers to a win over Cincinnati after being carted off the field with a right shoulder injury, setting up a second-round playoff game against the Broncos (12-4) next Sunday.
Roethlisberger suffered a shoulder injury in the 4th quarter of the game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
As Roethlisberger was being carted off the field, debris was being thrown from the stands at the quarterback.
The team says Roethlisberger has a shoulder injury.
Roethlisberger landed hard on the shoulder while getting sacked by linebacker Vontaze Burfict on the final play of the third quarter.
Roethlisberger was 13 of 24 for 189 yards with a touchdown.
Ben was replaced by Landry Jones at quarterback.
KDKA's Rich Walsh reports that the crowd in Cincinnati was warned to stop throwing objects onto the field and calm down.
CBS Sports announcers reported that Bengals fans were cheering his injury.

Just when it appeared McCarron would be the hero, Roethlisberger re-entered the game. A 15-yard penalty on Burfict for a hit to the head of receiver Antonio Brown was followed by a personal foul flag on cornerback Adam Jones and that moved the ball into position for Boswell's chip-shot game-winner.
The Steelers (11-6) might be without star receiver Antonio Brown, who was injured after taking a shot to the head on the final drive.
Head coach Mike Tomlin says Brown suffered a concussion.
