Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger 'Feels Great' As Preseason Continues
PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - The Steelers' preseason opener is getting closer. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger dropped by Vinnie & Cook live from Latrobe on Sportsradio 93.7 The Fan Wednesday!
If the hopes of a fine Steeler season largely rest on a healthy Ben Roethlisberger, the quarterback has good news on that front.
"I feel great," he says. "For the first time in three years, my knee doesn't hurt every time I drop back to pass. My shoulder doesn't hurt when I throw the ball. I feel really good, and I hope I can just make it through, one game a time."
The unit with the most direct effect on Roethlisberger's health is the offensive line. So far, Ben likes what he sees up front.
"The line's doing a great job," he says. "The cohesiveness is just unbelievable. They just seem to know what the other is doing. It's awesome to see. If we can stay healthy up front, that might be our best unit on the whole team. I'm excited about that, obviously!"
Roethlisberger also reveals why head coach Mike Tomlin has been running a more physical camp this year, updates his working relationship with offensive coordinator Todd Haley, and spotlights a former Pitt running back who may be a key to the Steeler offense.
