Steelers Pick OT, CB On Day 2 Of Draft

PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) -- With their second-round pick, the Steelers chose to shore up another "need" position – offensive tackle.

They chose Florida Gator tackle Marcus Gilbert.

The Steelers have had a good Florida Gator connection as Gilbert follows fellow gator offensive linemen Max Starks and Maurkice Pouncey.

Gilbert started at both tackle spots in starting all 13 games for Florida last season. He started 30 games in his career at Florida, including 27 consecutive the past two seasons.

Steelers offensive line coach Sean Kugler immediately lauded Gilbert's versatility.

In the third round the Steelers selected cornerback Curtis Brown from Texas.

Listed at 6-feet tall and weighing 185 pounds, Brown had 23 tackles, one forced fumble and one interception for the Longhorns in 2010.

He also saw some time as a punt returner during his four years at Texas.
