Steelers Notes: Polamalu Suffers Possible Concussion
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Steelers safety Troy Polamalu didn't last long at Kansas City Sunday night in the Steelers 13-9 victory, leaving early in the first quarter with a possible concussion.
Polamalu went head first into Chiefs offensive tackle Steve Maneri, who was an eligible receiver on the play, and remained on the ground for a short time. He eventually got up and walked off under his own power.
After leaving, Polamalu was evaluated and, at first, it appeared he might return to the game as he was standing on the sideline behind defensive coordinator Dick Lebeau with his helmet on. However, it was later announced he suffered a "blow to the head" and he spent the remainder of the game in sweatpants.

Polamalu suffered a "very mild concussion" Oct. 16 against Jacksonville. It did not force him to miss any games.
Most recently, Polamalu has been dealing with sore ribs. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said after the game that Polamalu had concussion-like symptoms. He should give a full update on the injury in his weekly press conference Tuesday, which can be heard live on Sports Radio 93-7 The FAN.
Other injury news:
- Center Maurkice Pouncey started the game for the Steelers but left because of illness. He had a stomach virus and Doug Legursky moved over from guard to center for the rest of the game.
- Linebacker Chris Carter suffered a hamstring injury and did not return.
