Steelers Look For Improvement In Second Preseason Game
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Steelers are looking for a vast improvement tonight against the Philadelphia Eagles at Heinz Field.
Last week against the Washington Redskins, the offense and defense were basically torn apart.
Their first team defense gave up a lot of yards, but not a lot of points. The offense failed to reach 200 total yards for the game.
Brett Keisel said the loss was a wake-up call.
"To me this means a lot," he said. "We didn't come and show up the other night, and so this is a big game for us to get back on our game, to get going again."
Ben Roethlisberger thinks this offense can do big things. "Honestly, I think we can run the ball, I think we can throw the ball, but it's going to be up to us.
"'Can we identify? Can we protect? Can we open up holes? Can we throw? Can we catch?'
"So, as good as we want to be, I guess," he said.
"We relied for such a long time on this defense to kind of carry us and obviously this game, the offense does great things, but as a team, as an offense, we want to step up every week," Roethlisberger continued.
"We want to be a valuable asset to this team and to be a team that scores lots of points and makes it easy on our defense and people can say, 'You know what, they won the game because their offense and defense won the game."
