Steelers: Leftwich To Start Against Ravens
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A day after it was revealed that Ben Roethlisberger had suffered a sprained shoulder, the Steelers have announced he will not play this weekend.
According to the Steelers' official website, Byron Leftwich will get the start against the division-leading Baltimore Ravens at Heinz Field.
On Tuesday, it was revealed that Roethlisberger had suffered a sprained sternoclavicular joint in his right shoulder after being sacked in the third quarter of Monday's 16-13 overtime win over the Chiefs.
Roethlisberger did not return to the game. Leftwich came in and completed seven of his 14 passes for 73 yards.
This will mark the first time Leftwich will start a game for the Steelers and will be the first time he's started a game since 2009, when he was a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Steelers will host the Ravens at 8:20 p.m. on Sunday.
