Steelers & Jets Fans Ready For Big Game
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - The AFC Championship Game is just hours away, but fans of both teams were out in full force Saturday night.
New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers fans partied at Stage AE on the North Shore and engaged in some trash talking.
The Jets arrived in town around 6:30 p.m. and a police escort led them to the Westin Hotel.
The player were greeted by a raucous crowd in the lobby chanting "J-E-T-S Jets! Jets! Jets!"
Jets fans haven't seen too many championships, but that isn't stopping them from being overconfident.
"Three or four weeks ago, we beat them. And you know what, we have a better team now than we've ever had before and we're playing with confidence," one Jets fan said.
"We're ready, we're awesome and we're going to go to the Super Bowl in two weeks," one woman said about the Jets.
However, Steelers fans know a thing or two about playing for a trip to the Super Bowl.
"Ben's playing a whole different ballgame and Troy's back. That's all that matters," one Steelers fan said.
One fan even had a message for the Jets and their fans.
"How many Jets are going to be flying to Dallas for the Super Bowl? The one with the Steelers on it! Yeah, baby! Steelers rule!"
You can watch the Jets and Steelers battle it out in the AFC Championship Game on KDKA-TV at 6:30 p.m.
